Buffalo March 2002
Not much happened during March before the trip to Williamsburg. Amy had a couple of concerts with solos. The pictures from them are really exercise in testing the limits of the camera more than anything else. We were able to sit on the first row of the balcony at both concerts, and that allowed me to brace the camera for an extra-long exposure with a small f-stop. These photos also made full use of the the camera's 3.3M resolution.
The shots of the full bands are rather large---if I cut the size down to what will fit on a 16 inch monitor without scrolling, the faces in the band are way to small to distinguish. So be aware that on those photos, the jpeg file is large (so downloading may take a while) and you will need to scroll to see the entire picture. In all of the group shots Amy is off on the extreme right of the picture, so you'll need to scroll to see her.
Kenmore Middle School combined band performs at the Middle School Combined Bands concert at Kenmore Middle School. (The file is about 516K.) Amy is on the far right of the picture.
Kenmore Middle School Saxaphones. This is a zoomed-in view of the saxes, trombones, and French horns. Unfortunately, Amy is a bit difficult to see since she's hiding behind one of the French horn players.
Most of the Kenmore Middle School Jazz Band performs at the Combined Middle School Jazz Band concert at Hoover Middle School. The drummers are missing since there was a big gap between them and the rest of the band and the camera's field of view just could not quite accomodate it. (This file is about 286K.)
Amy stands for a solo. You'll need to scroll to the right to see Amy. (This file is about 286K)
The combined jazz bands from all three middle schools. Amy is near the far right and is standing since she's doing another solo. (This file is about 286K).
